| Thanks arjogus, I think we will be very happy here, but part of me will always be back in SW Pennsylvania. One thing I know for sure is that I am too old for this stuff.

| redcap: Have you ever lived in New England? We're considering moving up there in a few years and I'm trying to find out how it compares to western PA and out west. You seem to have moved around a lot so I thought I'd check. Thanks!

I lived in western Massachusetts from May 1967 to October 1969. All I can say is it is different. The New England people are pretty stand offish. Here is two examples.
1. When I moved into a new house and saw my neighbor outside I went out and asked him when the garbage man came. He looked at me and went back into his house without answering.
2. There was an auto accident in downtown Chicopee. The traffic light was inoperable and was part of why two cars collided. I went inot a store and asked to use the phone to report the light being inoperable. The store owner asked me if I had a dime. When I said yes he said there is a pay phone two blocks down the street.
Having said this I will also say that i believe that id my house had burned down the whole neighborhood would have shown up to re-build it.
There is a guy on the tribune-democrat (Johnstown paper) who currently lives in that area. you may want to go there and ask for his thoughts.
Hope I have helped a little.
